2 Fingered Treason & Acoustic Sunday Should Never be Forgot!

Remember, Remember Sunday 2nd November; 2 Fingered Treason & Acoustic Sunday Should Never be Forgot!
Acoustic Sunday :: 2 Fingers – 2nd November 2pm- 8pm

With the last of the summer dredges surely scrapping the end of the barrel now, Acoustic Sunday, November, will be replacing Gunpowder with 2 Fingers, up your two smoking barrels, High Treason with TRAID popping-up and The Lady in Number 6 to Plot…music will definitely be saving your life!

After the phenomenal turnout at The Ultimate Sunday Fix! in October, Acoustic Sunday returns once again to The Crypt Café St. Peters in De Beauvoir Town, Hackney, Sunday 2nd November for a sensational showcase of home-grown talent, emerging musicians and artists – Acoustic Sunday, in conjunction with 2 Fingers is the definitive (if we may call it that!) Sunday afternoon we’ve all been waiting to ‘fall’ for.

The Menu

Hot on the trail to find the Holy Grail that is The Ultimate Fish Finger Sandwich Experience – 2 Fingers, London’s original Fish Finger ‘bad boys’ will be bringing you their latest gastronomic line-up.

For those with their fingers firmly on the pulse, there will be an exclusive ‘Meal Deal’ (£6) – ‘Posh’ Finger Sandwich, Hand-cut Chips & Home-brew for those first through the doors from 2pm – 4pm.

The Music

This months autumnal aural pleasures come courtesy of:

Tim Fulker – Solo acoustic fingerpicking guitar guru, expect intricacy and intimacy that will tug on your heart strings as quickly as they’ll get your tootsies tapping!

Dan Tredgold – with a sound ‘waaay’ beyond his 21 years of being in existence and with killer songwriting skills to boot, Dan Tredgold is a breath of fresh air on the rhythm n’ blues and country scene.

Mario Lottari – is back! Due to unprecedented demand, Mario returns to deliver another sterling set.

Aman Doktor – makes a welcome comeback to the stage once again, bringing with them their beautiful Greek inspired sounds.

Nelson & Friends – An incredible four-piece talent. With front man Nelson hailing from Mozambique – Marimbas, sweet guitar licks and jaw dropping percussions will be a plenty.

The Short Film

Kicking off ‘Acoustic Sunday’s Short Film Season’, will be a screening of The Lady in Number 6, an Oscar winning 2013 documentary film directed by the Academy Award winning film-maker Malcolm Clarke.
The Lady in Number 6 is one of the most inspirational and uplifting stories of the year.

As the world’s oldest pianist and holocaust survivor, 109 year-old Alice Herz Sommer shares her views on how to live a long and happy life, discussing music, laughter and how to remain optimistic come what may. The film features beautiful photographs and rare film footage that truly brings Alice’s extraordinary story to life, who unfortunately passed away one week before the Oscar ceremony.

The Pop-up

This month’s pop-up comes by way of TRAID – Textile Recycling for Aid & International Development; promoting “Free Home collections of unwanted clothes”, giving donors an easy way to donate unwanted clothes directly to charity, if they’re unable to carry donations to TRAID’s charity shops or textiles banks. There will also be further information about projects funded as well as a workshop about customising old pieces of clothing and a talk about sustainability, ethical fashion and other related issues.

With the exuberant, award-winning improviser and stand-up James Ross on hand as the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ to provide the perfect anecdotes, and the stairway to fish finger sandwich heaven that is 2 Fingers; Remember, Remember Sunday 2nd November; 2 Fingered Treason & Acoustic Sunday Should Never be Forgot!
