the midsummer gala! 2pm onwards, 5th July

Join us on the sunny side of the street on Sunday 5th July for a Midsummer Gala, with an extra helping of tomfoolery and tuneful delights – Acoustic Sunday, July will be sure to play out those summer time blues in no time at all!

The Midsummer Gala

Acoustic Sunday July kicks off this summer’s season of outdoor community festivities (weather permitting of course!) outside The Crypt on the terrace – think block party meets summer street carnival – for you to sit back, relax and unwind with the perfect sound track for Sunday afternoon.

Street food pop-up sensation 2 Fingers will be in residence to sooth away those hunger pangs with their esteemed fish finger sandwiches, as well as bringing you the quintessential classic summer time treat – Eton Mess. Sumptuous indulgent, sticky (…and gooey!) mess of crunchy meringue, tart English strawberries, is perfect for a sweet spot of Sunday afternoon indulgence.

For those with their 2 fingers firmly on the pulse, there will be an exclusive ‘Meal Deal’ – ‘Posh’ Finger Sandwich, Hand-cut Chips & Home-made Ginger Beer’ (£6) for those first through the doors from 2.30pm – 4.30pm.

To wash it all down choose from the ‘tipples of choice’ this month – Pic n’ Mix G & T’s and Pimms. Whether you like them long or short, sloe or stiff (drink that is!) pic n’ mix from a selection of premium gins or shoot the summertime breeze with jugs of Pimms to share for £10 from the sensibly priced pop-up bar which will be sure to raise you spirits!

Award winning improv-comedian James Ross offering the perfect anecdotes and some much-needed satire throughout the afternoon, why not make Acoustic Sunday July, your definitive Midsummer Gala!

Dominic Kasteel, Founding Member of Acoustic Sunday and Co-Director of Individio Media says,

“A much needed community presence is provided by Acoustic Sundays who are on a mission to encourage expression and creativity through the arts, with events which are free and accessible to all.

“We appeal to you to help us make this experimental project work, to inspire change in people, open up opportunities for emerging artists and help aspirations grow.

“Acoustic Sundays needs your support, so we may continue to celebrate diversity in the heart of the local community and put the newly refurbished Crypt on the social map of Dalston!”
