2 Fingers pops-up at the mother of all birthday shindigs as Acoustic Sunday celebrates it’s third year at The Crypt in De Beauvoir Town, Hackney on the 6th March for a fish finger fix that’ll have yo’ moma throw her oven gloves away!
Join us in celebrating Acoustic Sundays’ triennial birthday bash as ‘London’s original fish finger bad boys’ bring you the ultimate fish finger sandwich experience at one of London’s definitive live music community events.
Tuck into some 2-fingered lickin’ fare with the delectable ‘Po$h’, made with sustainably sourced and responsibly caught cod loin steaks with home-made tartar sauce on salt and pepper crusted Bloomer loaf, or the timeless classic, ‘Old Skool’, featuring Birds Eye™ Cod Fish Fingers with lashings of Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
For those who like to drop it like its hot, ‘Cod Creole’ will be sure to warm your cockles up, and if you like to swing both ways (we won’t tell anyone, mums the word!) there’s the ingenious ‘50:50’ – half an ‘Old Skool’ sarnie and half a ‘Po$h’ sandwich.
Your bits on the side come in the form of Just Fingers = Po$h Sandwich minus Bread, ‘Thick-cut Potato Chips’ and the ever so moreish ‘Sweet Potato Fries’ with a light dusting of Spanish sweet smoked pimentón. Herbivore tendencies? Enter the ‘BA Baracus Bean Buster Burger’ (v), lightly spiced, with a slice of mild cheddar cheese and zingy home-made fresh salsa.
Providing the quintessential soundtrack to the afternoon is a vibrant mix of musicians and bands cherry-picked for your aural pleasures. Kicking off with the Open-mic Session, this month’s line up includes an eclectic array of emerging musical talent, including Americana folk and blues from Ben Murphy, as well as Kawala, critically acclaimed as “one of the most exciting bands to emerge form London this year” – Mahogany.
Quench your thirst at the ‘Sensibly Priced Pop-up Bar’ which includes a selection of locally produced brews, as well as a selection of wines, liquors and soft drinks.
Run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers, Acoustic Sunday provides an essential platform for media training and creative opportunities for young people in the community – an initiative by SoundAdviceUK with generous donations by the Arsenal Foundation and Hackney Giving, supporting the use of live music to celebrate diversity whilst creating more connected communities.
Admission is by donations in-kind with all proceeds going to keep this unique community project alive, with your chance to enter an exclusive prize draw to win a boozy hamper.
With the exuberant, award winning improv-comedian James Ross also in his third year, as the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ and as sharp-witted as ever, providing some much needed anecdotal banter, join us to commemorate this momentous milestone – so raise a birthday cheer, here’s to the next three years!
